INTRODUCTION
This kit adopts the latex immunoturbidimetric method to in vitro quantitatively determine the concentration of anti-streptolysin “O” in human serum .
Streptolysin is an exotoxin produced by group A streptococci, referred to as anti-“O” or ASO. It can dissolve red blood cells and has a toxic effect on various cells of the body. After human infection with hemolytic streptococcus, a large number of anti-streptolysin O (anti-“O”) antibodies can appear in the serum. Detection of anti-“O” can be used as an auxiliary diagnosis for allergic diseases (rheumatic fever, glomerulonephritis) after streptococcal infection.
INTENDED USE
Anti-streptolysin “O” in the sample can agglutinate the latex suspension coated with the streptolysin “O” antigen in the reagent to form an antigen-antibody complex. By measuring the turbidity produced by the reaction and comparing it with a calibrator, the concentration of ASO in the sample can be obtained.
